Digitally printed shrink sleeves speed products to store shelves

SJ Creations Inc., a manufacturer of  personal care products for the Health and Beauty  industry, is leveraging modern printing and prepress technologies to debut new products. The company is using PVC shrink sleeves, printed by The RB Dwyer Co., on a HP Indigo press for soaps in contoured packaging.

Because the labels are made from heat shrink film, they hug the contours of the various containers used by SJ Creations. Additionally, the labels are printed in five to seven vibrant colors using water-based inks.

Ashley Sheurs, art director of SJ Creations states: ”The digital press allows us to bring new and fresh products to the marketplace without incurring huge printing costs. It is very cost effective with low tooling costs and the quality often surpasses that of conventional printing. In addition, the extensive color gamut powered by Esko, allows us to address the most demanding color requirements.”

The RB Dwyer Co. notes that its HP Indigo press enables the converter to meet the needs of packaged goods companies that require small- or medium-size runs, samples for sales and marketing, or package mock ups.
