Sustainable packaging concerns investigated and trends revealed

When it comes to sustainable packaging, are you a leader, follower or laggard? Is the packaging industry as a whole where it should be? What has shifted recently and why?

For the last 10 years, the Packaging Digest Sustainable Packaging Study has revealed attitudes about sustainable packaging and analyzed trends—both existing and emerging. This year, we again partnered with the Sustainable Packaging Coalition to create a survey that looks at both broad and narrow trends.

The 2017 questionnaire contains general questions about sustainable packaging to track the progress of packaging departments over the years. But the survey also delves into three current areas of interest:

1. Sustainable packaging education: What is the most effective way of educating consumers about sustainable packaging?

2. Sustainable packaging sourcing: What are the challenges of buying biopolymers, responsibly sourced fiber or post-consumer recycled packaging materials?

3. Recycled-content packaging: Is there enough supply at a good price for you to reach your goal of a certain percentage of recycled-content materials in your packaging?

Answers to these and other key questions about sustainable packaging trends can help you examine best practices in your market and set your next priorities.

You should be able to complete the questionnaire in about 10 to 15 minutes. When you do, you’ll be eligible to win one of three prizes of $100.
