TEQ Thermoform, Belco Packaging expand packaging parts services
Belco Packaging Systems (a maker of shrink packaging, pouch sealers and blister sealing systems) and TEQ Thermoform Engineered Quality (a thermoform packaging solutions provider) have partnered to can now provide customers with seal tooling and on-site verification of parts compatability early on in the packaging system development process. According to company representatives, the arrangement will help packaging customers save time and money through on-site verification of the compatibility of machinery parts, and give customers direct access to high-quality machines early on in the packaging system development process.

 

Harris Poll names top packaged beverage brands
The 2012 Harris Poll EquiTrend study names the top brands among CPGs offering various types of bottled beverages. This year's Coffee Brand of the Year is Green Mountain Coffee, which edged out Folger's, Dunkin Donuts, Starbucks and other companies. Coca-Cola remains the highest-rated soft drink (followed by Pepsi-Cola, Sprite, 7-Up and other brands, and SoBe Adrenaline Rush is Energy Drink Brand of the Year. Other brand winners include Goya Coco Water (Coconut Water), Glaceau vitaminwater (Enhanced Water), Poland Spring (Bottled Water), Tropicana (Fruit Juice)and Lipton Tea (Hot Tea and Bottled Ice Tea).


GLOBALPACK 2012 scheduled in Phillippines in July
Produced by the Central Phillippine University's School of Packaging Engineering and Systemat-PackEDGE, GLOBALPACK 2012 (held July 24-27 at the Sarabia Manor Convention Center in Iloilo City) a conference event geared toward members of the global packaging industry, Philippine manufacturing, and the small- and medium scale enterprise sector. ResourceOne adds converting, packaging machinery
Little Chute, WI-based converter ResourceOne International has purchased two custom-built case packers and lidders, in a move to serve its converting and packaging clients. According to Tom Sonntag, Resource One president, the fully automated converting equipment allows for quicker changeovers, a wider range of carton sizes to accommodate the ever-changing digital market, and faster overall speeds, adding that the new case packer and lidder handles 8.5"x11" pony pack cartons through the 14.33"x 20.5" sizes with speeds up to 60 reams per minute.

 

EoPlex expands semiconductor packaging business
EoPlex Ltd. is opening a new factory, intended to produce its xLC semiconductor chip packaging, in Malaysia later this year. The xLC product is intended for packaging semiconductor chips packaged for applications that include: cell phones, MP3 players, digital cameras, laptops, tablets, e-readers, data loggers, GPS units, and many other types of mobility products. EoPlex is part of ASTI's Semiconductor Manufacturing Services Group, which operates eight factories in five countries and provides tape/reel packaging and integrated circuit programming services to original equipment manufacturers, contract manufacturers, and component distributors worldwide.
