Beverage Bonanza at InterBev '04

A full roster of special events is scheduled throughout the show. All new for 2004 is the InterBev Oasis, a high-profile sampling area located on the show floor. Attendees will have the opportunity to sample beverages from a host of exhibitors. The oasis also plays host to the Ochakovo Festival on Mon., Sept. 27. From 3 to 5 p.m., attendees are invited to learn about and sample Ochakovo beer, a top-ranked Russian brew. The 8th annual Beverage Retailing Summit, scheduled for Mon., Sept. 27, will provide information on the latest trends in the industry. Other events include Beverage World magazine's Soft Drink Hall of Fame Awards and Beverage Industry magazine's Manufacturer of the Year Award presentations, and a new product showcase. Admission to all special events is free with registration to the show.

Show hours are from noon to 5 p.m. on Sun., Sept. 26; from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Mon., Sept. 27; and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Tues., Sept. 28. Following is a brief preview of selected InterBev exhibits.

  • ARPAC Group-1717: BPMP Series of compact, high-speed, bottom-overlap multipacking systems can wrap 70 shrink-wrapped bundles or multipacks/min.

  • Arrowhead Systems-1522: Container handling systems include tabletop conveyors, depalletizers and palletizers, bottle warmers, can warmers, pallet stackers and dispensers, and more.

  • Austrian Trade Commission-754: Promoting Austrian exports; seeking agents and distributors for Austrian products.

  • City Brewing-1441: Contract packager offers services for both brewed and alcohol/nonalcohol blending. Paper, p-s and shrink-sleeve labeling; high-speed bottle filling ranging from 12 to 40 oz; high-speed can filling from 12 to 24 oz.

  • Hitachi America-1445: PX Series of small-character printers includes no plant air requirements and low solvent consumption. 10-in. touchscreen panel provides interface.

  • Orion Packaging-1721: Semi- and fully automatic stretch-wrapping systems feature simple design and easy operation. MA rotary tower automatic successful in beverage industry.

  • Posimat-1251: Systems for handling empty plastic bottles include bottle silos; bulk and air conveyors; bottle unscramblers; and bottle depalletizers.

  • Robbie Mfg.-1232: Reverse, 10-color and seven-color high-tone film-printing services.

  • SleeveCo-1304: Labeling products include stretch, full-body shrink, custom-cut bands, rollstock and tamper-evident bands. Custom printing up to 11 colors available.

  • Sympak-BC Intl. Div.-1132: Bottling lines for beverages include filling systems for PET bottles applied to soft drinks, water, juices and beer. Also includes low-level depalletizers, palletizers and shrink-wrapping machinery.

  • Thermo Electron-1313: Range of quality control products and analysis equipment includes X-ray and CO2 quality assurance systems.

  • Universal Packaging Machinery-1526: Ultra-Speed? filling valves fit most bottle fillers. Quick, easy filler adaptation package permits circulation of C.I.P. solution through universal Ultra-Speed valves for Crown and Meyer fillers.

  • VBS Intl.-1352: Patented liquid nitrogen injection systems; line includes LCI system that pressurizes and/or inerts containers at line speeds up to 2,000 cpm. Suitable for hot-fill applications, PET containers, glass
