Nestle provides bottled water for relief efforts in Missouri

Responding to the tornado in Joplin, MO, on Sunday, May 22, Nestle Waters North America is working with relief partners--AmeriCares and Gleaning for the World--to deliver 800,000 bottles of water from Nestle Waters' Hawkins and Dallas, TX, bottling facilities to health facilities and other relief centers in Joplin.

Fifteen truckloads of Nestle Waters Ozarka and Nestle Pure Life bottled water brands are being distributed by Gleaning for the World throughout Joplin. An additional six truckloads are being delivered by AmeriCares to health facilities, Feeding America food banks in Kansas City and Carthage, MO, and to the College Heights Christian Church, located in the heart of Joplin.

Nestle notes that the Joplin tornado is the latest in a series of humanitarian crises in the central and southern U.S. In late April, the company partnered with AmeriCares and Feeding America to deliver more than 265,000 bottles of water to food banks and shelters aiding tornado survivors in Alabama and Tennessee, and worked with The American Red Cross to provide relief to victims of recent flooding in Mississippi.
