The Spanish Mahou - San Miguel Group has extended its Mahou Cinco Estrellas brand, which was first launched in 1969, into the super-premium beer segment. To help develop packaging for the new product, Mahou - San Miguel brought converter Spear on board. The label printer helped develop a look that preserves some of the visual cues of the Mahou brand, but with a modern twist.

Labels are printed with the characteristic Mahou red and gold ink as well as gold hot foil to establish the traditional look and brand recognition. However, the labels are converted from clear p-s material and incorporating a frosted Mahou ‘M' and five stars, which stand boldly in contrast to the brown glass bottle.
