int Systems Inc., a leading global supplier of shrink management, merchandise visibility and apparel labeling solutions for the retail industry and its supply chain, today announced its newest RF label series in its Enhanced Performance (EP) Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) labels range: a first-of-its-kind EP CLEAR Tamper Tag for placement "on" or "inside" small high-risk items, with a variety of new options on how to design the tag for optimal alignment with the retailer's loss prevention strategy.

Checkpoint is the first company to offer this flexibility and at the same time achieve the technological breakthrough of manufacturing a label that will not degrade branding or interfere with packaging design. The tamper tag, which has a printing and adhesive that makes it tamper resistant, also allows for CLEAR protection against theft of a product package without jeopardizing the brand image. It also packs big performance for a small-size EAS label; and with its new packaging grade adhesive it is the optimum EAS label protection available for protecting small items and high-value merchandise.

Reduces Shrink up to 50+ percent

EP CLEAR Tamper labels are a visual deterrent to theft or can be a covert application when used with source tagging programs, i.e., the application of a security device at the point of manufacture. The new tag has been tested at two large retailers and has proven to reduce shrink by over 50 percent. Health & beauty products can benefit from these new RF label circuits, as the labels are small in size and can protect items such as cosmetics or perfumes, often targeted by thieves and organized crime teams. Checkpoint also offers retailers the option of customizing the tamper tag to meet their needs, including a basic "CLEAR circuit appearance," a store brand or even a store-specific ID that carries the store number and/or address.

The EP CLEAR Tamper label provides exceptional EAS detection in a small sized label, especially when used with the company's EVOLVE EAS System. EP CLEAR label and EVOLVE antennas have shown a combined 95 percent or higher performance rating in retailer pilots. The labels may be applied to products in stores by employees, or can easily be integrated into high-speed source tagging processes by product manufacturers, so that merchandise arrives in stores shelf ready.

"The EP CLEAR Tamper Tag continues our commitment to provide retailers with alternatives that drive lower shrink and higher on-shelf availability," noted Farrokh Abadi, Checkpoint Systems' worldwide president, Shrink Management Systems. "Next to the long list of benefits that the EP CLEAR range of tags offers today, the introduction of the EP CLEAR Tamper Tag also creates a new level of collaboration between CPG's, retailers and Checkpoint to address the issue of merchandise sales availability. We believe EP CLEAR Tamper Tag meets an unmet requirement and will make a difference to the bottom line of our customers while improving shoppers' experiences."
