Coca-Cola FEMSA invests $29.8 million for new bottling line

Coca-Cola FEMSA, SAB de CV, a bottler of Coca-Cola products, has announced an investment of $29.8 million for the opening of a new line of PET packaging up to 72,000 bottles per hour, at its plant Jundiai bottler to supply the region of Sao Paulo, Brazil.


The new line was adapted to the blowing machine with 36 patterns and has a distribution optimized in two levels, with the innovation of having the packaging and label printer in the second level. The bottling plant of Coca-Cola FEMSA will increase its production volume in 12 percent.


The Coca-Cola FEMSA Jundiai has an area of 178.827sqm and it had 14 bottling lines, two Kapo Suco and a Bag in Box, better known as refil for soda machine. This plant supplies Jundiai region, the capital and the coast of Sao Paulo, and parts of Minas Gerais.


"The opening of the 15th drink production line affirms the productive capacity of the plant for Coca-Cola FEMSA Jundiai. We are committed to not only deliver products quality, but also ensure they are delivered to consumers efficiently," said Eduardo Lacerda, director of legal and corporate affairs, Coca-Cola FEMSA.


In January 2011, Coca-Cola FEMSA, Brazil inaugurated on the same floor a line of Returnable PET (Ref Pet), with capacity to produce 27 000 bottles per hour. Jundiai plant, in addition to the Pet Ref, is responsible for packaging, marketing and PlantBottle distribution. The package reduces CO2 emissions by up to 25%, being 30% of raw material from plants. The plant currently has 870 Jundiai collaborators.
