The company has released a solid-surface belt option for its DynaClean food packaging conveyor line. The ThermoDrive solid-surface belt is intended to offer the best features of modular plastic link belts, with the benefits of traditional flat belts. The items are constructed of homogeneous thermoplastic, with 100% closed surfaces; according to the manufacturer, this feature makes them suitable for hygienic food-processing applications. Unlike traditional flat belts, these belts drive on sprockets like a modular plastic belt and are not under tension, enabling easy lifting for food conveyor cleaning and solving nearly all traditional flat belt problems. Plant operators may specify the belts for food conveyor applications requiring a 100% closed surface, extremely high sanitation, frequent cleaning, or use of a scraper to remove product from the belt are called for.
