Did you miss these stories?

Were you out of the office on vacation last week or traveling on business? Maybe you just didn't get the chance to open all your emails. In any case, the Packaging Digest daily newsletter on Mondays will begin including the three most-popular stories from the previous week. This feature is based on the number of times a story is opened by readers like you. To stay abreast of the latest in packaging, make sure you read your daily newsletter.

1. Bag-in-box wine feeds new wine-on-tap dispense system

Unlike existing traditional poured-from-bottle and keg-based wine-by-the-glass solutions, the patent-pending Better Barrel system eliminates all peripheral equipment needed for on-premise wine-by-the-glass service and reduces the costs and resources associated with the transportation, proper storage and management of gas cylinders, kegs, tap equipment, refrigerators and glass bottles (glass bottles are currently the largest source of carbon emissions from the wine industry).

2. Shoppers change buying habits in response to shrinking package sizes, higher prices

A new Deloitte survey shows consumers want healthier foods, alternative brands, front-of-label packaging and smartphone access. And, as food prices escalate, they're buying more lower-priced grocery items and private-label products.

3. Penthouse debuts wellness beverages

Penthouse is launching new sexual wellness drinks, this month: Per4mance Shots by Penthouse for men and Pleasure Shots by Penthouse for women. The beverages are in response to industry data showing impressive sales in the new sexual enhancement segment.
