ProPly (bleached) and Eco Select (unbleached) premium microwaveable popcorn bag papers are designed to offer food packaging firms functionality, appearance and sustainability advantages. According to the manufacturer, the papers offer a high degree of oil/grease resistance, thanks to fibers refined to create a functional barrier prior to additional barrier treatments. The papers also are said to be highly char resistant, an especially important consideration for single-serve bags, which generate heat more quickly due to their smaller size. The papers also can be printed flexo; according to the manufacturer, they offer a high degree of ink holdout, helping to eliminate bleed through that can build up during processing. They can be FSC certified.
