EskoArtwork donates CDI Spark 2530 imager to graphics college
EskoArtwork has donated a CDI Spark 2530 imager to The Harper Center of Graphics Technologies at Dunwoody College of Technology. Dunwoody College of Technology, based in Minneapolis, offers a two-year graphics communications program divided into three tracks: design, premedia and press. The donated imager will be used to help Dunwoody students learn all the tasks involved in an all-digital workflow, from project design to making plates.


Goss International Acquires Vits Print GmbH
Goss International, a manufacturer of presses and sheeting systems, has acquired the assets of sheeter/finishing company Vits Print GmbH. The acquired company produces Rotocut sheeter models and Jet Web finishing products, including coaters, diecutters, prefolders and plow stations; those machines now will be manufactured at the Goss Contiweb facility in Boxmeer, The Netherlands. VITS-America Inc. is not part of the acquisition.

 

Ultrachem food-grade lubricants certified halal
Ultrachem Inc. has received certification that its food-grade synthetic lubricants, oils and greases meet the requirements of Halal Certification as established by the Islamic Food and Nutrition Council of America (IFANCA). IFANCA Halal Certification provides an independent, third-party quality step, assuring food processors that a company's products meet stringent hygiene and sanitation standards in their manufacture. "In adding to our NSF, Kosher and GOST-R endorsements, we've verified the global reach of our product family of synthetic greases and lubricants," says Bob Whiting, president of Ultrachem.

 

Versatile Packagers provides copack services for alcohol, tobacco
Florida-based copacker Versatile Packagers works with alcohol and tobacco distributors and retailers to provide contract packaging services. Packaging or repackaging alcoholic beverages and tobacco products requires special licensing from the Dept. of Business and Professional Regulation. "Redoing or undoing an existing type of packaging to reflect new standards is increasingly popular with alcohol distributors as well. Since 2005 we have repackaged and put together promotional packaging for Bacardi and Coke, Alize and Cognac, Buy One Get One Free Wine Bottles and more," says a company representative.

 

Best Packaging acquired by Coastal Containers
Corrugated manufacturer Best Packaging has been acquired by Coastal Container. All of the acquired company's equipment and operation will be moved from its current Coopersville, MI location, to Coastal Container's Holland, MI facility.
