Global Flexible Packaging Challenge Draws Big-Name Support

Incubation Network Global Innovation Challenge Flexibles
The Incubation Network’s second annual Global Innovation Challenge, The Future of Flexibles, is supported by Dow, Danone, Procter & Gamble, Unilever, and others.

Do you want to be part of a sustainable solution to the “plastics problem” in Asia?

Future of Flexibles, a global solicitation for ideas and innovation that can increase the recovery and recyclability of flexible packaging, was announced as the Incubation Network’s second annual Global Innovation Challenge.

The contest is open to “any established venture equipped with a possible solution for hard-to-recycle, flexible plastic materials and their relevant value chains aiming to build a waste-free future in South and Southeast Asia.”

Judging criteria comprises…

  • Relevance to Solution Areas and Region (35%)
  • Potential to Scale (25%)
  • Impact (20%)
  • Team Background & Capabilities (20%).

Those chosen will be assigned to one of two tracks: an incubation track for young startups eager to get their innovation off the ground, and an acceleration track for those more mature startups and subject matter experts (SMEs) interested in expanding their footprint in South and Southeast Asia.

The deadline for applications is April 2.

For me, the takeaway is that this is another example of the breadth of packaging stakeholder involvement globally to address end-of-life flaws that undermine the goal of a truly sustainable circular economy.
