March 11, 2015
New on-the-go packs from Oscar Mayer contain meat, cheese and nuts catering to the brand’s active consumers who are looking for convenient snacks to keep them going during the day.
The P3 Portable Protein Pack is being rolled out with a lucrative marketing campaign and is expected to be a driving force in the expanding protein-snacking market which is estimaged to be worth $19 billion. Trends show that consumers are looking for more protein in their daily diet and have been leaning towards Greek yogurt and protein bars.
The on-the-go packs are a culmination of three top- leading brands that are already household names – Oscar Mayer, Kraft and Planters Nuts.
P3 Portable Protein Packs contain no artificial preservatives and have at least 13 grams of protein with little to no sugar. Selections include:
Applewood Smoked Turkey, Marbled Colby & Monterey Jack Cheese, Dry Roasted Almonds
Applewood Smoked Ham, Reduced Fat Sharp Cheddar Cheese, Dry Roasted Almonds
Rotisserie Seasoned Chicken, Reduced Fat Cheddar Cheese, Dry Roasted Peanuts
Slow Roasted Turkey Breast, Reduced Fat Cheddar Cheese, Dry Roasted Peanuts
"Consumers snack three times a day on average, and 75 percent of adults are looking to add more protein to their diets," says Joe Fragnito, Oscar Mayer vp of marketing. "The protein snacking category has a 7 percent growth rate, but meat is too often an afterthought with all the yogurt, smoothies, bars and powders on the market. P3 Portable Protein Pack is the ideal product to address this gap in the marketplace."
P3 Portable Protein Packs are available nationwide and are located in the refrigerated meat case at grocery and convenience stores.
A single, 2-oz pack retails at $1.79 and a triple, 6-oz pack retails at $4.99.
