Food safety and point-of-sale aesthetics are key benefits of this tray-less poultry packaging solution from Ulma Packaging, in which horizontal form-fill-seal equipment automatically wraps and hermetically seals frozen chicken quarters.

The product is flow-wrapped in film, sealed longitudinally and traversely, and then conveyed through a shrink tunnel to create a protective “second skin” around the product. The final packaging is glossy and transparent, enabling consumers to see the product.

The machine, an Ulma FM 300, is designed for easy cleaning and features a watertight electrical cabinet.
