Kerrygold Extra tub

Kerrygold Extra is a dairy spread made from Irish butter (made with milk from meadow-grazed cows) and high-quality rapeseed oil. Because the firm has a reputation for high-quality, flavourful dairy products, the packaging for the new spread had to meet the company's lofty standards.

The company opted for K3 dimensionally stable tubs, made by Greiner Packaging Intl. The containers are thermoformed from PP and wrapped with a paperboard sleeve. The recycled-content sleeve is designed to give the tub greater stability and protects the contents from exposure to light.

The tub is decorated with a printed paper label. A thick sheet of special paper inserted between the lid offers additional product protection. Also, the overall design of the tub is geared toward the user experience: The textured sleeve and rounded shape make it safe and easy to handle while spreading, and a small flap on the lid makes it easy to open and close.

Kerrygold Extra, sold in Europe, comes in 150g and 250g packages.
