Grocer showcases meat source label for Memorial Day grilling

Integrated Management Information Inc., a leading provider of verification and Internet solutions for the agricultural/livestock industry under the Where Food Comes From brand, today announced it will team with the Heinen's grocery chain and two Heinen's Own Beef producers over Memorial Day weekend to showcase Heinen's Own Beef and the Where Food Comes From program. 

The two-day event will convene at eight Heinen's locations throughout the greater Cleveland area. In store activities will feature producers who provide beef to Heinen's along with chefs grilling porterhouse and t-bone steaks for Heinen's shoppers to sample.

Heinen's is the nation's first regional grocer to adopt IMI Global's Where Food Comes From labeling program, which allows shoppers using smart phones to scan the quick response bar code on meat packaging to access information about the source and origin of the product.
