Klöckner Pentaplast Group expands its production capabilities for blown A/MA/B barrier films (commonly known as Barex® barrier films) at Beaver, WV at a cost of $500,000. 

PWP opens a second PETE recycling facility, costing $20 million, in CA. 

Portola Packaging, Inc.’s wholly owned subsidiary, Portola Tech, moves to new modern manufacturing facility in Cumberland, RI. 

RISO, Inc. opens a Boston branch. 

Spear Group Holdings expands Mason, OH production facility. 

Bobst Group North America names Larry Gannon as the customer service manager responsible for the mid-Atlantic region. 

Tom Frey, who previously covered the mid-Atlantic region, will focus on the growing northeast region. 

Diversapack LLC opens a $7 million film-manufacturing facility in PA.

BUYING & ALLYING

 

Ball Corp. acquires beverage-can manufacturing plants in Rome, GA, Columbus, OH and Ft. Atkinson, WI and a beverage-can end-manufacturing plant in Gainesville, FL from Anheuser-Busch InBev for $577 million. 

Bemis buys Alcan Packaging for $1.2 billion. 

ID Label Inc. acquires Universal Label Technologies, Inc

PaperWorks Industries and The Specialized Packaging Group merge. 

Rockwell Automation has the following 10 machine builders join the Rockwell Machine Builder program, part of the company’s PartnerNetwork framework: ADCO Manufacturing, Aspect Automation, Delkor Systems, EAGLE Technologies, Fargo Automation, Osgood Industries, Oystar Jones, Schneider Packaging, Triangle Packaging and United Bakery Equipment
