The proprietor of Bored & Hungry, a burger joint in Long Beach, CA, leverages NFTs to brand all aspects of his restaurant, including beverage cups, holders for fries, and burger boxes. The NFTs — which the restauranteur purchased and has commercial rights to — are from the Bored Ape Yacht Club and Mutant Ape collections.

In addition to appearing on Bored & Hungry’s food packaging, the NFT ape imagery appears on signage, menu boards, flooring, and oversize cut-outs displayed inside the restaurant and mounted to the roof.

The restaurant, which opened in early April 2022, was originally designed as a 90-day pop-up. But consumer response was so good that it is now operating as a permanent destination.
