Smyth Companies partners with Novacap
Smyth Companies, a label and label application equipment manufacturer, has entered into a partnership with Novacap, a private equity firm in Montreal, Canada.

Commenting on the new partnership, John Hickey, CEO of Smyth Companies, states "Smyth has concluded a year-long search to find the right partner, and we are pleased to announce this partnership with Novacap who will supply the capital and acquisition expertise to expand our reach throughout North America and worldwide.

John, Bill, and Dan Hickey along with the entire Smyth management team will retain a significant ownership stake in the company and continue in their current roles managing Smyth.

 


Colbert Packaging receives SFI, FSC Chain of Custody Certifications
Colbert Packaging Corp. has received Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) Chain of Custody Certification (NSF-SFICOC-C0038447) and Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) Chain of Custody Certification (SCS-COC-003001). Both certifications encompass Colbert operations in Lake Forest, Ill., and Elkhart, Ind., certifying three facilities for meeting strict tracking requirements to ensure that certified paperboard used in these facilities comes from a well-managed forest.
