Jeremy L. Weaver had an innocent-looking 7UP soda can in his car when police pulled him over in Reamstown last week.
But the 21-year-old Akron man wasn't thirsty, police said.
Except for maybe a drug deal.
When police screwed off the bottom of the can - a fake designed to hold valuables - they found Weaver's version of valuables.
Specifically, $2,500 in heroin, divided into 125 postage-stamp-sized bags.
Police also found five bags of marijuana in Weaver's car, along with $600 in cash, said a spokesman for the Lancaster County Drug Task Force.
After obtaining a search warrant, police found 70 more bags of heroin, a half-pound of marijuana and packaging material at Weaver's home, at 1169 E. Main St.
Total value of the drugs and cash from Weaver's car and home: $4,700.
Police believe Weaver has been selling drugs in the northern end of Lancaster County, the task force spokesman said.
They charged Weaver with possession of heroin with the intent to deliver, possession of a small amount of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and violating a drug-free school zone for his arrest as a result of the traffic stop, which was on North Reamstown Road.
Additional charges are pending with regard to the drugs found in Weaver's home, the task force spokesman said.
What's more, when police checked Weaver on a national crime computer database, they found he was a fugitive from justice, the task force spokesman said.
Police in Lexington, Ky., want Weaver on charges of identity theft.
Weaver was arraigned and committed to Lancaster County Prison, in lieu of $100,000 cash bail.
Weaver has an arrest record. In 2008, he pleaded guilty to possession of a small amount of marijuana.
