For the 70 percent of Americans who don't get enough vegetables every day, there are now fewer excuses. Campbell Soup Co., maker of V8® 100-percent juices, has made it even more convenient for people to get their vegetables on-the-go by distributing several of its V8 juices to vending machines for the first time. Campbell created a new 12-oz PET bottle that will enable the company to offer the popular juices in approximately 15,000 vending machines across the U.S. The single-serve refrigerated juices will be managed by Coca-Cola Enterprises' leading distribution system. The bottle, from Amcor (www.amcor.com), is topped with a bright red twist-cap from Silgan White Cap Americas (www.silganwhitecap.co). Fort Dearborn (www.fortdearborn.com) provides the PETG shrink sleeve bottle label, with which it prints the familiar V8 vegetable graphics. Campbell knows that demand for health-promoting, functional beverages is up and Mintel Intl. says it's going up another 19 percent by 2011, so Campbell's timing looks just right.
