Growing up in the suburbs, Emily Caton says she had the “perfect” childhood, but after experimenting with drugs and alcohol in high school, addiction quickly took hold.
Caton’s path eventually led her to jail where she served time and decided to turn her life around. Upon release, she accepted a job at JBM. Living in a halfway house at the time, she used transportation services to-and-from work provided by one of JBM’s partner organizations, Beacon of Hope. Over time, Caton used other support services, including the Wheels program, consultations with a financial planner, and one-on-one meetings through JBM’s Change Coach. She just celebrated her first year with the company, has a car, a solid savings account, and serves as a Peer Mentor to other Fair Chance Employees.
