Domino North America welcomes a new president
Domino North America names Garry Havens to the position of president, North America. Havens will serve as president in addition to retaining his Board of Director responsibilities for Domino Printing Sciences, plc. Mike Brown will resume the post of GM, Domino Canada. Constantino de Llano will maintain his role as GM for the Mexico operations.

Boise to acquire Tharco Packaging and expand in packaging markets
Boise Inc. and Tharco Packaging, Inc., today announced that their respective boards of directors have approved an agreement under which Tharco will be acquired from an investor group led by Tricor Pacific Capital Inc. The $200 million all-cash transaction will result in Tharco becoming a wholly-owned subsidiary of Boise and is expected to close in early March 2011. Tharco’s range of corrugated products and services is being acquired to complement and expand Boise's existing packaging business.

TLF Graphics installs complete workflow solution by AVT
TLF Graphics in Rochester, New York has installed an AVT PrintVision/Helios II 100 Percent Automatic Inspection solution together with a Helios II WorkFlow Link. TLF Graphics produces p-s labels as well as labeling systems and screen printed products. For label production they use both flexography and digital printing processes. TLF installed the AVT equipment last year on a Nilpeter press and an Arpeco Tracker rewinder.

UPM Raflatac to acquire labelstock coating operation in Brazil
UPM Raflatac, one of the world’s leading suppliers of self-adhesive labelstock, will acquire Gumtac, the Brazilian labelstock coating and slitting business of BIC Group. Gumtac is located in Rio de Janeiro and employs approximately 35 people.
