Adhesives Research Inc. names new president

Adhesives Research Inc. promotes George Stolakis to the position of president. Stolakis has been with the company since 1994 and most recently held the position of vp and GM of the Adhesives Research division. As president, Stolakis will oversee the company’s Adhesives Research division, ARx, LLC and ARmark Authentication Technologies, LLC. 

 

CMI partners with non-profit for can recycling effort

The Can Manufacturers Institute (CMI)  partners with non-profit organization Food For All has signed on as a partner for The Great American Can RoundUp. The RoundUp initiative is designed to help organizations recycle cans for cash and raise environmental awareness among participants. The partnership allows RoundUp participants to choose to donate the money they collect from recycling to Food For All, who will distribute the proceeds to soup kitchens and food banks in participants’ local cities and towns, nationwide.

 

MWV to acquire trigger sprayer provider Spray Plast SpA

MeadWestvaco Corp. has entered into an agreement to acquire Spray Plast SpA, which specializes in the development and manufacture of plastic trigger sprayers and dispenser pumps. Spray Plast focuses mainly on the European market, but its products are used worldwide in sectors such as household cleaners, janitorial and industrial cleaning, car and plant care, agriculture and veterinary products.

 

IoPP adds two new categories to AmeriStar Package Competition

IoPP adds Automotive and Pet & Vet categories to AmeriStar Package Competition. The early-bird deadline for the competition is November 30.

 

Menasha announces renewable energy project at its Neenah, WI, campus

Menasha Corp. plans to install five wind turbines for electrical generation at its office and manufacturing complex on the southwest side of Neenah along Highway 41. The company says that the installation of five wind turbines will be the largest announced by a business to date in northeastern Wisconsin.

 

Messe München, NürnbergMesse partner on PET exhibition

Messe München GmbH and NürnbergMesse GmbH, have concluded a corresponding agreement under which the PETpoint, the PET segment at drinktec, will also take place at Brau Beviale in Nürnberg in future, starting in November 2011. The PETpoint presents mainly technologies and accessories for the manufacture and recycling of drink bottles made of PET. PLA and other plastics for beverage containers are also represented at the PETpoint. 

Beginning with the 2013 event, the European Beer Star competition held regularly at Brau Beviale in Nürnberg, also is to be presented for the first time at drinktec in Munich. The competition is organized by the German brewing associations, Verband Private Brauereien Deutschland and Verband Private Brauereien Bayern, in cooperation with the Association of Small and Independent Breweries in Europe.
