Vetter announced the release of its Vetter-Ject, a closure system for prefilled syringes. It has already received international recognition, and the tamper-evident closure system includes a baked-in siliconization of an integrated needle syringe.
According to Vetter, today’s phama and biotech companies are developing more drugs that use sensitive and complex compounds, and the Vetter-Ject can serve a purpose of safety, simplicity, and flexibility in best administering these drugs to patients. The Vetter-Ject consists of a needle hub and needle shield, and it is produced through a two-component injection-molding process of polypropylene and thermoplastic elastomer.
The Vetter-Ject can be used in primary packaging options like different stoppers and glass barrels, and it provides fill and finish services as part of its final packaging service of syringe systems, from trays and plunger rod assembly, to auto-injector assembly, and final packaging.
"Our patented syringe closure system offers pharmaceutical and biotech companies more options for filling highly sensitive parenteral drugs," says Tilman Roedle, director of packaging development at Vetter, in a released statement. "Patients and qualified medical personnel now have the advantage of the system's easy handling and high standards for product safety and integrity."
The Vetter-Ject has received the IF Design Award and the Red Dot Design Award.
