Sustainability conference explores green printing technologies

Taking place from June 18-20 at the Doubletree Hotel Philadelphia, the IntertechPira's Sustainability in Printing conference will examine trends across the printing supply chain: from material suppliers to publishing houses and how each one is addressing the sustainability issue from their own perspective.

The conference will include presentations from numerous key industry leaders in the commercial printing industry, including a panel discussion titled Green Print-Buyer Dynamics that will be moderated by Graphic ArtsMonthly editor in chief Bill Esler. Panelists include Peter Cook, CEO of Concord Litho; Erik Braun, CEO of InktreeInc.com; Jeff Morrow, vp of sales and sustainability at Label Impressions; Natural Source Printing; and Don Seitz, evp sales and business development, HubCast Inc.

Other presentations include “The benefits of inkjet over electrophotographic print technologies" by David Murphy, vp of marketing for Riso. The Riso presentation will detail how inkjet printing can be used to reduce hazardous material usage, thereby reducing environmental contamination; to lower power consumption, thus minimizing the associated carbon emissions; and to reduce e-waste.
