Shock-Resistant carton from Rondo-Pak unfolding at INTERPHEX

Pharmaceutical & Medical Packaging News staff

A new folding carton described as shock and vibration resistant will debut at INTERPHEX at Booth #3007, April 21-23, at the Jacob K. Javits Center. Developed by Rondo-Pak, Rondo Safepack is suitable for steriles or liquids that require extra protection. The design naturally dissipates vibration, reducing the potential for glass breakage or other damage, the company reports in a news release.

Featuring double-walled construction, Rondo Safepack employs auto-actuating cushion flaps on its top and bottom that can protect against severe impact and reportedly provide higher crush resistance than standard cartons. An integrated partition eases use on both manual and automated packaging lines.

“Rondo Safepack provides manufacturers and contract packagers peace of mind that products will not be damaged in transport, without the extra expense of alternate solutions with similar protective properties,” states Victor Dixon, President & COO of Rondo-Pak, in the release. “It is an easy-to-incorporate, easy-to-use solution that exemplifies our commitment to solving packaging problems creatively and cost-effectively.”

The carton utilizes 100% recyclable paperboard, positioning Safepack as an alternative to plastic clamshells and foam inserts.

Rondo-Pak produces cartons for child-resistant, senior-friendly packaging, compliance packs, and packaging for clinical trials. It is part of Medipak Systems, the Körber Group´s business area pharma systems.
