As Lakeview Farms looked to launch its La Mexicana salsa brand nationally, it realized a packaging redesign was in order.

The new design doubles down on the brand’s familiar rooster image, placing it on the front of the package and on the lid. The designers also changed and enlarged the font of the brand’s wordmark. Additionally, various claims that had appeared on the front of the old package were removed.

Sales data show that the redesign did a remarkable job, reversing a declining-sales trend. The trend changed from -8% before the redesign to +15% afterwards, year over year.
